Flood victims can call on St Lucy MP

Barbados is under a Flash Flood Warning and St Lucy residents in flood-prone areas can get urgent help.

In the North of Barbados, torrential rains have led to widespread flooding across districts.

In St Lucy, persons are moving livestock and seeking alternatives in some instances in the name of safety.

Being proactive, Member of Parliament for St Lucy and Minister in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance, Peter Phillips is not waiting until it's too late.

He has issued an early call to all those who fear the conditions or need help. Personal Assistant to the St Lucy MP, Danny Babb issued a notice via social media stating: 'Those needing help can contact the MP Peter Phillips at 231-9365 or his Personal Assistant Danny Babb at 266-2530'

Babb confirmed that all communities across the constituency are being impacted. He said there are over 9,000 residents living in that one parish and constituency.

According to the Barbados Met Office a tropical wave is currently affecting the island.

The Flash Flood Watch initially in place was upgraded to a Warning at 10.30 am this morning, Saturday, November 9, 2019.
