LIAT now suspends passengers flights until May 2020

LIAT has extended the suspension of all passenger services until May 15, 2020.

This new date for resumption comes after the company took the decision to suspend flights from April 4 to April 18. On April 2, LIAT had informed its customers that "due to the updated impact of COVID 19 as well as the border closures and travel restrictions across the LIAT network, that the airline will suspend all passenger services from 4th April for a period of 14 days in the first instance."

The suspension was reviewed after the first fourteen days as promised and on April 18 the suspension was extended.

All passengers booked during the period of suspension are told that they do not have to fearful. LIAT said they will automatically have their bookings automatically cancelled.

Once LIAT announces the resumption of services, passengers will be allowed to rebook.

However, it was advised that "if a customer booked a ticket through a travel agent, he or she should contact the travel agent to amend the booking or exchange the ticket for future travel."
