Loop Weather Update: Light to moderate showers on October 25
The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) reports a tropical wave will begin to affect the island today, Sunday, October 25.
Surface to low-level confluence along with the presence of an upper-level trough has resulted in conditions being fair to occasionally cloud with scattered light to moderate showers over the Leewards and northern Windwards.
Some of this activity began to affect Barbados closer to daybreak with a few isolated light to moderate showers being observed. The BMS recorded rainfall accumulations of 0.6mm.
From late afternoon towards nightfall, the tropical wave along 55/56W will begin to move across Barbados and the southern Windward Islands. BMS reports that some increased cloudiness, a few scattered light to moderate showers and possible thunderstorms are likely.
General Forecast: Mix of sunshine and clouds with a few brief isolated light to moderate showers.
Winds Across Barbados: Moderate easterly breeze from 30 to 35 km/h (19 to 22 mph) with higher gusts and steady.
General swell information: Moderate in open water with swells ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters ( 5 to 8 ft ) and increasing.
Dust-Haze Forecast Across Barbados: Moderate dust haze and decreasing to slight dust haze.
