Latest weather systems to watch off African Coast
Two more weather systems in the Atlantic are attracting the attention of Met Officials at present.
With Tropical Storm Paullette, which is expected to become a hurricane over the weekend, and Tropical Storm Rene posing no current threat to Barbados currently, the attention has now shifted to the two latest systems off the African Coast.
The first being a tropical wave located along 23W from 19N southward, moving westward at 10 to 15 kt and it is expected to gradually develop into a tropical depression within the next few days.
Officials believe that there is a chance of formation into a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, officials have also noted another large area of disturbed weather associated with a tropical
wave beginning to move off the west coast of Africa.
From that, it is expect that a tropical depression could form over the far eastern tropical Atlantic early next week while the system moves slowly westward. Upper-level winds could become less conducive for development by Monday or Tuesday.
