BRA and Barbados Licensing Authority Joint statement on Insurance Stickers
The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) and the Barbados Licensing Authority have assured Barbadians that they will again be able to get their insurance stickers.
The information came via a joint statement issued by the Barbados Revenue Authority and the Barbados Licensing Authority via the BRA Facebook page.
In the joint statement, Bajan motorists have been assured that these stickers will be sent out via the Barbados Postal Service once road users have the correct and up-to-date information in relation to their insurance.
"Following a suspension period due to the island’s COVID-19 measures, the issuance of registration stickers is currently ongoing via the Barbados Postal Service’s mail service.
As long as a road user’s insurance is up-to-date, road users who require a renewal of their vehicle registrations, will receive their stickers by post," the statement reads.
The halt to the issuing of the stickers came as a result of COVID-19 and saw many Barbadians unable to collect stickers during this time. There was also a pause to the renewal of drivers' licences and all services provided at the Barbados Licensing Authority headquarters in The Pine, St Michael, such as weight certificates and vehicle inspections.
For drivers this comes as a relief after months of not being able to access the service, however some of the comments online questioned how successful this new system will be.
