Queen's Street in Speightstown impassable after destructive fire

Queen's Street, Speightstown in St Peter remains blocked four days after a massive fire destroyed three beachfront businesses on September 3.

The blaze completed destroyed One Eleven Eats Beach Bar, Archer's Hall and Juma's Restaurant.

Due to damages and collapsed structures, some of which fell onto the roadway, detour signs have been erected stopping drivers from passing the area. 

Drivers will meet 'No Entry' signs from the Southern side of Queen's Street and from Chapel Street.

The cluster of businesses were located at the junction of Chapel Street and Queen's Street.

It was reported that Prime Minister Mia Mottley went and observed the damage on Friday, hours after the tragic fire.

The fire occurred around 5 pm on Thursday, September 3, and members of the Barbados Fire Service managed to extinguish it around 11 pm, some six or so hours later.
