Saturday Spirits: Cinni Martell by Trevor Luke

Luke's Cinni Martell, a 'smoked cocktail' that's as short-lived as it is refreshing.

Luke's Cinni Martell, a 'smoked cocktail' that's as short-lived as it is refreshing.

It’s Saturday, and your reason to imbibe has just arrived, neatly packaged in your weekly quarantini special: Saturday Spirits.

Mixologist Trevor Luke is the creator of the sensuous “smoked cocktail”.

Luke is an award-winning mixologist.

You should trust him behind the bar because he was the second runner up at the 2019 Taste of Jamaica competition and was ready to vie for the top spot at the 2020 Taste of Jamaica culinary competition (postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19).

Luke is inspired by industry pros such as Ovando Gayle, Clinton Morrison and a fellow mixologist known as Shawn — all senior colleagues who he worked alongside at VBar in Portmore.

With these around-the-house ingredients, you can recreate the Cinni Martell just about anywhere.

Cinni Martell is an intriguingly piquant cocktail that's as short-lived as it is refreshing.
