Face-to-face class for students of the St Paul’s Primary and St Luke’s Primary schools this morning with little fanfare. 

With little fanfare, the Class Four students of the St Paul's Primary attended school at the Collymore Rock Church of the Nazarene. 

Additionally, remediation works at the Parkinson Memorial Secondary School and the Lodge School were completed over the weekend, with regular classes resuming this morning. 

The Ministry of Education is assuring parents and guardians that all safety protocols are being followed, to ensure safe working environments for students and staff at school plants.

Six more primary schools to reopen tomorrow, two still being renovated

Hundreds of students did not return to school today but at no fault of their own.

The Ministry of Education issued a press release stating that students of St Luke's Brighton will be working online only, during Week 1, while Class 4 students will be working face-to-face at the St Luke's Church Hall. Classes for these students are scheduled to resume on Monday, September 28.


As was already communicated, the St Giles' Primary school is set to resume mid-October.

But, in the interim, they will be working online except those in Reception and Class 4. Reception students will be located at the Government Hill Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church, and Class 4 students will receive online instruction from Monday to Wednesday and face-to-face classes will be held at the Barbados Community College (BCC) on Thursday and Friday.

Regular classes at the Ivy-location will resume on Monday, October 12. Teachers will contact parents to confirm the arrangements.

Additionally, the following schools will start on Tuesday, September 22, due to further adjustments which are required to be in place to meet COVID-19 Protocols:

  • St Stephens Primary
  • St Paul’s Primary
  • St Martin's Mangrove Primary
  • Half Moon Fort Primary
  • St Matthew's Primary
  • St Philip Primary

All other public schools opened today (September 21).
