VIDEO: Accused in Bishop's Court double-murder to be evaluated

Facing two counts of murder, accused Dwayne Omar Gittens appeared in the District A Magistrate's Court today (June 27).

The 35-year-old man of no fixed place of abode went before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant moments ago.

He is charged:

  1. That he on June 22 within the jurisdiction of the Magistrate of District 'A' murdered Glenroy James.
  2. That he on June 22 within the jurisdiction of the Magistrate of District 'A' murdered Christoff Griffith.

The offences occurred at Bishop's Court in Lower Collymore Rock, St Michael.

He was not required to plea to indictable charges and was remanded to Her Majesty's Prison (HMP) Dodds until July 24. 

The Court has ordered a mental evaluation to be conducted.
