Volunteers needed! Public Health team wants help tackling COVID-19
Created : 5 April 2020
As Barbados works to flatten the curve, a call for volunteers with a medical background has been issued.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness is making an appeal for volunteers from among the healthcare community to assist in COVID-19 related activities.
In a press release, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Anton Best, said that the Ministry is interested in attracting volunteers who are healthcare providers, including public health nurses, environmental health officers, staff nurses and doctors, who will join public health teams in monitoring and contact tracing.
The tasks may include telephone interviews, desk review of document or databases, and face-to-face interviews.
Persons interested in volunteering are asked to call the COVID-19 hotline at 536-4500.
