Today, May 12, marks International Nurses Day. ‘Tis a day of appreciation for nurses, worldwide.

And, you’re invited. Join the fun and share in the appreciation of nurses by adding the #nursesday to your posts on social media.

But, how did it all begin?

International Nurses Day began as a celebration of the life of “the founder of modern nursing” Florence Nightingale’s birth.

Each year, the International Council of Nurses commemorates this important day with the production and distribution of the International Nurses' Day (IND) resources and evidence.

Loop Lifestyle tips its hat in honour of all nurses.

Check out this funny video actor Kevin Bacon shared on Twitter for #nursesday

If this video doesn’t help remind us what type of heroic spirits nurses are, I don’t know what does! Today is #InternationalNursesDay and more than ever, we must celebrate them and the incredible, selfless work they are doing each day to save lives and combat this virus pic.twitter.com/Q5FxCU6Llz

Chief among the things nurses are credited for is caring for a COVID-19 world; doing their best to flatten the curve.
